Tag-Sport Rally Team

Tag-Sport > The Story of Tag-Sport

Ever since 1994 Trevor Hurst has been the proud owner of a Ford MKII Escort Rally Car powered by a two-litre pinto engine.

Trev competed in a number of Rallying events across the UK from 1998 up until 2001 when he stopped to focus on Dan Hurst's stock car racing career.

During his three years of rallying, Trev had raced on circuits including Croft, Great Orton and the Weeton Stages.

Since 2001 the MKII Escort has been used merely as a road car and rarely been given the opportunity to go full-bore down a straight or super sideways around a corner.

But all this is about to change. In the Summer of 2009 Trevor made the decision to place the MKII Escort back into the workshop to undergo some serious restoration work, including fitting a new floor to replace the rust-attacked one, in order to get the Escort race ready.

This has resulted in the birth of Tag-Sport. The MKII Escort will be back on the rally scene where it belongs, but this time with a difference. Father and Son will be as one to tackle the rallying stages sideways.
